点评：台湾歌坛天后李玟与内地歌坛天王孙楠的联手合作，本身就不可多得，两人依靠绝对实力的演唱让这首歌增添了许多色彩。

特点 只听三遍就可以哼唱

该歌曲的创作者之一孔祥东透露：“这首歌的曲风很大气。在这首歌中，我们并没有用太多的中国元素。2008年奥运会虽然在中国举办，但它是属于全世界共同的盛会，需要全世界的人们都能接受。如果北京奥运歌曲只有中国人会唱，能够理解，那就是奥运歌曲的失败。我们的定位是：全球人民听三遍就可以哼唱出来，这也是全球的参与性。”

主唱 四位歌手演唱中文版本

歌曲的创作还未完成，孔祥东就开始为歌曲中文版寻找合适的演唱者了。他说：“如果《永远的朋友》能在北京奥运会开幕式上唱响，我希望歌曲的演唱者是国内最有分量的歌手。可能的话，我想邀请四位歌手来唱，两男两女的组合最好——刘欢、孙楠、王菲、那英！”

莫洛德尔在这上面的看法与孔祥东略有不同——找2名国际歌手完成英文版本，然后再找2名中国歌手来唱中文版本，孙楠也是他青睐的对象之一。
